We arrived safely in Germany on Tuesday after a very long flight. Since then we have been running around like crazy trying to get things taken care of so we can start to get settled.
Here are the things I have learned about Germany thus far:
1) The roads are EXTREMELY confusing
2) German people are fairly nice even if they have no idea what you are saying
3) TAXIS ARE EXPENSIVE!!!!
4) Iphones are cheap if you sign up for a contract
5) The BX is a teenager hangout all the time, not just on weekends
6) Milk tastes different, and the cows smell different
7) It stays light here until about 10:30 PM which totally messes with your mind!
8) AFN TV sucks
9) People are super crazy drivers, luckily my jeep will be twice the size of their cars so I can just run them over.
10) While looking for houses off base, take it even if you kinda like it because there are 15 other people that would take it while you "think about it"
Hopefully I will get a chance to take some pictures soon now that things are starting to settle down a bit.

Hey Lindsay!!
ReplyDeleteWe really miss you down here. So have you gotten the chance to try German beer? Is it hot? What are you doing sniffing cows? Since the sun is still up at 10:30pm what does everyone do at that time? When does is get dark? Have you ate any of the food in Germany? Have you been studying to get your license in Germany? I'm glad you are getting settle in Germany. Once the both of you begin to travel, please let me know before you go to France. You know I want to wire you some money, so that you can send me some purses. ;0) Guess what? You have rubbed off on me. I want to crochet. I'll let you know if I go through with it and how it turns out.
Love ya
Iwanza
Hey wanzie. No beer yet. The weather is bipolar here it was in the high 70s when we landed, the next day it was cold and in the 60s and since then it has been in the 70s again. Only german food ive had was a croissant with chocolate in it at a bakery. It was delicious! We take the driving test on Thursday and hopefully we pass it so we can rent a car, it sucks having to ask for rides or pay $100 for a cab! It's going to take a few months to get settled, but then we plan to travel. France may be one of the first places since it is so close. I miss y'all. Let me know how the crocheting goes, i was never that great at it.
